Using aluminium cavity plates is an essential way of reducing the cost and time it takes to manufacture your prototype, low volume or point of sale tools.
Prototyping
We were invited to make prototype moulds for one of the first all plastic automotive inlet manifolds and air swirl units. The project included manufacturing a number of aluminium and P20 prototype injection moulds in addition to being part of the component design team.
As members of the team we had to consider the part designs from a tooling stand-point and come up with a closed plastic moulding and 'second op’ rubber over-moulding production cell.
Point of sale and low volume
Nokia, New Balance, Coca Cola and many other companies have (via third parties) used our services for their Point of Sale tooling.
Low volumes of parts destined for medical labs around the world are part of the mix of projects we are lucky enough to be involved in. The tools – all aluminium with optical grade mirror polished finishes remain an interesting part of CGP Engineering’s yearly work load.
